Isaiah Mucius, the 6-foot-8, 183-pound Class of 2018 small forward from Brewster (N.H.) Academy and the PSA Cardinals AAU program, visited UConn and Temple this week and plans to cut his list later this summer.

“Each school’s message was different but they both want me to make an immediate impact on their programs,” he said.

As for UConn: “UConn wants me to replace Terry Larrier and be an impact player from Day One. They want me to be able to play all positions.”

On Temple: “Temple said that I would be another version of Quentin Rose who is there and they would use me in multiple positions.”

Mucius listed Wake Forest, UConn, Xavier, Temple and Rutgers as the “schools working hard.”

“There are other schools but these are the schools working the hardest,” he said.

He said he will “probably cut my list after July.”

Wherever he goes, he figures to be a force.

“[I will bring] my versatility being able to play multiple positions and my motor crashing the glass,” he said. “Just being a dog and working hard.”

Meantime, many schools will see him and his PSA Cardinals teammates at their joint combine with the NY Jayhawks on July 23 at Westtown (PA).

“I’m just looking forward to seeing the coaches that are recruiting me and more,” he said. “This is also a great opportunity not only for me but for the younger guys in our program to be able to get some exposure to these college coaches.”

Mucius also made the switch to Brewster from the St. James School (MD) for his senior season.

“We decided to go to Brewster for my senior year,” he said. “The NEPSAC is one of the best conferences in the country where they play with college rules. It will help me have an easier transition to the college and speed. Coach [Jason] Smith has a great history developing players into great college players and pros.”
