Brandon Williams, the 6-foot-4 point guard from Encino (CA) Crespi and Cal Supreme Elite, announced his commitment to Sean Miller and the Arizona Wildcats Tuesday.

Williams, who is ranked the No. 7 point guard in the Class of 2018 and also considered Kansas, Gonzaga, UCLA and USC before ultimately choosing Arizona.

“They’ve been there from the beginning, since eighth grade. They were the first school to recruit me,” Williams told ESPN. “The addition with [assistant] coach [Lorenzo] Romar only helped me out. They are starting to do a lot more ball screens, which fits my game. Also, my relationship with the coaching staff is great. That’s very important.”

Williams joins power forward Shareef O’Neal, Shaquille’s son, in Arizona’s 2018 class.

“They need me to be the point guard,” Williams told ESPN. “They haven’t had that guard in a while. They need me to just do what I do now: create for myself as well as for my teammates.”

The Wildcats also have the No. 3-ranked recruiting class in 2017 behind Kentucky and Duke. That class is highlighted by projected lottery pick DeAndre Ayton.
