Jordan Tucker will visit Georgia Tech on Thursday as he moves towards a college decision.

“Georgia Tech visit on Thursday,” his father, Lou Tucker, told ZAGSBLOG. “We’ll make our decision from there. Hopefully the end of next week we’ll be making a decision.”

Lou added that they were awaiting word from ESPN on when they could announce.

The elder Tucker also said there would be “no Oregon visit.” The Ducks on Sunday landed a pledge from New Mexico transfer Elijah Brown, the son of acting Golden State Warriors head coach Mike Brown. The 6-foot-4 Brown averaged 18.8 points per game as a junior at New Mexico and could slide into the starting shooting guard spot at Oregon with the departure of Tyler Dorsey.

“Not necessarily from that, he just felt that he didn’t want to go that far anymore,” Lou Tucker said. “Not because of Elijah. They lost six, seven kids.”

Tucker is also considering Syracuse and Villanova, and recently visited Syracuse.

“Syracuse is every day,” Lou said. “I hear from Coach [Jim Boeheim], from Allen Griffin, from Gerry McNamara, Red Autry. Everybody is doing a good job recruiting Jordan. They pretty much they did everything they could possibly do.”

As for Villanova, “Nothing really. They did everything they could do. They did a good job recruiting Jordan.

Meantime, Tucker’s former NY Rens and fellow Jordan Regional teammate Jose Alvarado is in his ear about joining him under coach Josh Pastner at Georgia Tech.

“Jose’s calling me every day trying to get me to come with him,” Tucker said at the Jordan Brand Classic. “It makes sense, I played with him on the Rens. So I don’t have to develop a new relationship with a point guard. They just want me to get back to having fun again and just playing in a free system and not having to look over my back.”
