For the second straight year, the PSA Cardinals and Albany City Rocks will run a Kentucky-style combine for their Nike-sponsored teams.

This year’s event is set for 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on July 17 at the Westtown (Pa) School and will be during the July live period.

A year ago, the event was held at Springfield (Mass.) Commonwealth Academy and featured coaches from Kentucky, Kansas, Minnesota, St. John’s, Syracuse and many others.

The New York-based PSA Cardinals enter the Peach Jam at 14-2 and are among the favorite to take home the title at the event that runs July 6-10 in North Augusta, S.C. Their roster features four players in the 2017 ESPN 100, including No. 3 Mohamed Bamba, No. 22 Quade Green, No. 43 Brandon Randolph and No. 80 Deng Gak, as well as 2019 point guard Cole Anthony, the son of former NBA point guard Greg Anthony. The Cardinals also feature 2018 guard Isaiah Mucius, ranked No. 30 in the 2018 ESPN 60.

From the City Rocks, Hameir Wright is ranked No. 63.

“It’s our second year doing it with the PSA Cardinals,” Albany City Rocks director Jim Hart said. “The whole idea behind it is in AAU, a lot of times the kid who might be you’re seventh to 10th man on your bench might not get the same exposure as a Mo Bamba or a Andrew Platek or a Hameir Wright, so here’s a way we get to put all of our 15-, 16-, 17-year-old kids 1-12 out on the court in front of a host of college coaches, all with equal time, equal opportunity, be it 3-on-3 or skill work.

“We’re going to add more combine elements this year, like measurements and agility and individual skills…We’re real excited about expanding on it. We’re moving into Westtown so we’re going to have elite facilities to go along with the elite talent that’s going to be in the building.”
