BLAIRSTOWN, N.J. — Over the summer, Kodye Pugh, a 6-foot-8, 195-pound small forward, transferred to Blair Academy from Boys’ Latin School in Baltimore and reclassed to the Class of 2017 from 2016.

At Blair, he’s playing alongside fellow 2017 standouts in 6-4 point guard Matt Turner and 6-11 big man Deng Gak.

“Just the competition out here [at Blair], getting this level of competition in practice every day and playing games like this will help my ceiling to increase,” Pugh told me last week at the school.

Off the court, he’s adjusting to life at Blair, which resembles a college environment with its spacious campus, huge green lawns and focus on academics.

“I’m just focusing on basketball and school, two things I should be focused on,” he said.

Pugh continues to see his recruitment evolve and holds offers from 22 schools, including Florida, Stanford, Vanderbilt, Georgia Tech, Georgetown, Seton Hall and Northwestern.

“A lot of coaches have been calling me, texting me, keeping up with me, so it’s pretty even right now,” he said.

Pugh likely won’t cut his list until next summer or beyond.

“He is a super-skilled with a huge upside,” We R1 coach Terrell Myers told SNY. tv. when Pugh transferred to Blair. “In my eyes, that makes him one of the top three wings in his class. KP is fairly young for his grade. The extra year will help him develop physically and emotionally.

“He is an exceptional student and has qualified academically.”
