One of the most sought after players still on the board in the Class of 2016 is Alpha Diallo, a 6-foot-6 wing from Brewster (N.H.) Academy.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — One of the most sought after players still on the board in the Class of 2016 is Alpha Diallo, a 6-foot-6 wing from Brewster (N.H.) Academy.

The Harlem native saw his stock take off after a strong performance in August at the adidas Nations event.

“It gave me a lot of confidence in my scoring ability,” Diallo said at the National Prep Showcase where he had 15 points in a way over Northfield Mount Hermon (Mass.) on Saturday and 17 in a victory over Spire Institute (Ohio) on Sunday. “Even though I get my teammates involved a lot, I really notice I can score so I just have to get that done.”

As far as recruiting, Diallo said Florida, Miami, Texas A&M, VCU, Kansas and Indiana were working the hardest. All have offered except Kansas. He also holds offers from Rutgers, Seton Hall and others.

“I’m still definitely open,” he said. “I haven’t signed yet so coaches have been still calling me. I’m still soaking everything in. I might take a few visits here and there coming up.”

He said he doesn’t have any in mind but he’s already visited VCU.

“It was great, coaches were awesome,” he said. “They welcomed me as well. I love Richmond so it was a great place.”

He also likes Florida and Miami.

“Great programs,” he said. “Florida [has a] new coach [Mike White] but he has a pretty tough resume.

“Miami, [Jim] Larranaga great coach,” he added. “Great programs, so I love their style.”

For now, Diallo has no timetable on a decision but will sign in the spring.

“No timetable to cut down anything,” he said.”
