    On Wednesday night, North Carolina entered the fray of colleges vying for Jayson Tatum’s commitment.

    Tatum, a 6-foot-7 wing forward out of Chaminade St. Louis (MO) High School, has made an immediate impact in the class of 2016, picking up a slew of offers, including Kentucky, Florida, Kansas, Ohio State, Missouri, and now North Carolina.

    “It means a lot,” Tatum told SNY.tv. “Coach Roy Williams is a great coach. Talking to him, and him giving me a scholarship has meant a lot.”

    Special to ZAGSBLOG — Ty Graves is ready to live up to expectations.

    The 5-foot-10 Class of 2016 point guard out of Page Greensboro (N.C.) High School has really impressed college coaches all over the country with his sharp-shooting and his ability to lead his AAU team, the Karolina Diamonds, over the course of the summer.

    Son of Kevin Graves, and cousin of former UNC-player Will Graves, Ty knows that there will be an expectation to pick North Carolina when the time comes, but he doesn’t feel the pressure of making the choice.

    Here are the rosters for adidas Nations, which tips off this morning in Garden Grove, Calif.  The country’s top-ranked high school players will participate in addition to teams from Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe and Latin America, plus more than 30 college counselors.

    The culmination of the four-day event will be championship and third place games at Long Beach City College on Monday that will air live on ESPNU at 4 p.m PT, 7 p.m. EST.

    Matt MacDonald, a 6-foot-5, 185-pound wing from Buffalo Canisius High, verbally pledged to Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday.

    “I chose FDU because of a terrific coaching staff,” MacDonald told SNY.tv. “It is a great school in a great league, and I felt it was the best fit for me as a player. Coach [Greg] Herenda will make me a better player.”

    MacDonald was initially headed to prep school at St. Thomas More (Conn.). He had interest from Navy, Binghamton, NJIT and Brown, but FDU was his only Division 1 offer.

    “I was planning on going to St Thomas More but once I visited FDU, it was too good of an offer/ opportunity to pass up,” he said.
