LeBryan Nash has narrowed his list to three schools and plans to announce Oct. 21 on ESPN.

The 6-foot-7, 227-pound small forward from Dallas Lincoln is considering Oklahoma State, Baylor and Kansas. He took an unofficial to Oklahoma State last weekend and has a visit slated to Baylor Sept. 11.

The No. 2 small forward in the Class of 2011 said he “might” visit Kansas Oct. 15 for “Late Night in the Phog” and then plans to announce Oct. 21 on ESPN.

“My decision is going to be on Oct. 21,” he said by phone from the Boost Mobile Elite 24 game in Venice Beach, Calif. “ESPN picked that date. It’s the best date for both of us.”

If Nash picks Oklahoma State, the school his half-brother Byron Eaton attended, he could also visit that school Oct. 23 for its Midnight Madness.

“I might be there for their Midnight Madness if I pick that school,” he said.

Nash, his mother and Tony Johnson, his AAU coach, tripped unofficially to Oklahoma State this past weekend and enjoyed it.

“It went real good,” he said. “It was real fun to see the guys, see who I could be playing with if I picked that school. I talked to Coach [Travis] Ford. I had a great time in my visit up there.

“Oklahoma State, I just like the style of play. They get it and go. They’re one of the top four scoring teams since Travis Ford has been there. That’s my kind of system, going up and down. I would have the ball in my hands most of the time.”

As for the other two schools, Nash said:

“Kansas is one of the best schools tradition-wise. I think if I go there I’ll be one of the best players there.

“Baylor is a school close to home and  I know a lot of people going there. They’re recruiting me really hard. The 2-3 [zone] would be perfect for me.”

Nash said he did consider St. John’s but they are now out.

“I did, I did,” he said. “My coach told me to narrow my list down to three and my mom thinks St. John’s is a far place. She probably can’t go to too many games at St. John’s. She really didn’t want me to go there. They came in late and I just picked the three schools that were recruiting me the hardest.”
