Seton Hall continues to land recruits from all corners of the basketball world.

Eugene McCrory, a 6-foot-8 senior power forward out of Kamit Institute for Magnificent Achievers in Washington, D.C., is the latest player to commit to the Pirates after watching Seton Hall beat DePaul, 79-71, Sunday at the Prudential Center.

“He went up there and watched the game at 12 o’clock and texted me at 4 and said he had verbally committed to Seton Hall,” KIMA Coach Levet Brown told the Washington Post. “He just has to get the scores on the SAT or the ACT. He’s been working hard.”

Said McCrory: “I went up there and loved the school, so I made my verbal commitment.”

AFter transferring from Paul VI Catholic, McCrory is averaging 17.6 points and 12.1 rebounds and has helped the Hawks to a 22-5 record.

Seton Hall “saw him over the summer and thought he was overweight and wasn’t getting up and down the floor,” Brown told the Washington Post. “After they saw him, they said all that has changed. He’s an undersized kid, but they want him. We’ll see what happens with it.”

Seton Hall also has an offer out to 6-8 senior forward Jamir Hanner of NIA Prep in Newark, who said “I’m very interested in Seton Hall.”
