  • Jones, Williams Get Release from USC

Point guard Lamont “Momo” Jones of New York and forward Derrick Williams of Calif., have been granted releases from USC, according to the L.A. Times.

The Trojans have now lost five recruits and four of their best returning players since the end of the season. Head coach Tim Floyd resigned earlier this week in the wake of the O.J. Mayo scandal in which Floyd is alleged to have paid cash to Mayo associate Rodney Guillory.

It remains unclear if the releases were conditional or unconditional.

If unconditional, expect Jones to look at Arizona, Florida and Memphis, as reported here yesterday.
