SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Jared Grasso was navigating his silver Dodge Equinox SUV early Monday morning through back roads filled with snow while chatting away on his BlackBerry.

Grasso, a 28-year old assistant coach for the Fordham men’s basketball team, is constantly in motion, always multitasking.

When you’re trying to recruit players capable of turning an Atlantic 10 bottom-feeder into a contender for a league championship, there’s no time to rest.

    • Excellent article Adam. It’s not always easy being a Fordham fan, but Grasso is the real deal. Derrick Williams, Joel Wright and Austin Carroll are the three kids I really want for 2010—and I have faith Jared can get it done. Also, I’ve heard Wright will be too old to play in the PSAL next year—is that true and any ideas where he might look to prep? Anyway, thanks for the regular updates on Fordham recruiting, it’s appreciated.

    • Grasso is a good guy. Wright will be to old that is true. I think to an extent where he preps will determine what his general mindstate is. May be a tough for fordham to get don’t know if the big east interest will be to much to pass up. Don’t know as much about wiliams and carroll. Im a long island dude but this comment is not out of bias or agenda. JJ moore a 6’6 wing from brentwood high 2010 is a real underated guy who can play in the A 10 if he gets out of the crappy school hes in and preps for a year or two.
He dropped 33 on lance stephenson and company over the summer and was the best player on the floor for large stretches of the metro nyc vs the suburbs game. Real athletic slasher who can shoot, plays at a terrible school where he has do do everything himself so it hurts his evaluation process but could be good down the line.
