  • Lance, Dexter, Dominic & Greg Make ESPN Top 100

    Lance_courtesy_nydailynewsESPN released its Top 100 for the Class of 2009 and several New York and New Jersey players made the Top 10.

    Brooklyn Lincoln star forward Lance Stephenson, who is uncommitted, chimed in at No. 4. North Carolina commit Dexter Strickland of St. Patrick of Elizabeth is No. 6. Uncommitted wing Dominic Cheek of St. Anthony is No. 8. And Rutgers commit Greg Echenique, who will play with the St. Benedict’s Prep team next year, is No. 9.

    Four of the Top 25 picks are committed to North Carolina, including Strickland; 6-9 PF John Henson at No. 19; and 6-9 twins David and Travis Wear at No. 22 and 23, respectively.

    Rutgers commit Dane Miller of Rush Henrietta High chimed in at No. 39. Omari Lawrence of St. Raymond’s is No. 46. Durand Scott of Rice chimed in at No. 53; Tamir “Pop” Jackson of St. Benedict’s at No. 82; and Rutgers recruit Tevin Baskin of Trinity Catholic No. 84.

    Thirty-one members of the Top 100 have already committed, including two apiece to Big East schools Rutgers, UConn and Louisville.
