I’m a big tennis guy and these are two of my favorite weeks of the year.

Props to my boy Chris Chaney, the former Patterson (NC) School coach, who predicted del Potro earlier Monday (maybe before that). Someday I plan to cover Wimbledon and maybe even the Australian Open. So stay tuned for that…

Anyway, here are the hoops highlights of the night:

**Dallas Episcopal point guard Phil Pressey confirmed to me via text tonight that he committed to Missouri.

“Yes, I did,” he said.

The 5-foot-10 Pressey is ranked No. 13 among point guards in the Class of 2010. He chose Mizzou over LSU, Baylor, UCLA and Arizona.

“After I played with the guys and saw the campus and the football game and interacted with all the players, I thought Missouri was the place,” Pressey told Powermizzou.com . “I pretty much knew where I wanted to go. With the family atmosphere and knowing I had a chance to play right away, I just felt like there was no point in taking any other visits.”

Pressey averaged 18.3 points, 9.8 assists, 5.3 rebounds and five steals per game as a junior while earning all-state honors from the Southwest Preparatory Conference.

**Kansas head coach Bill Self met Monday night with the parents of Oak Hill (Va.) guard Doron Lamb, a Queens native.

“It was good,” Calvin Lamb, Doron’s dad, said by text. “He talked about how Kansas will be a good fit for Doron.”

Self had previously met with Doron himself last week at Oak Hill.

Arizona head coach Sean Miller and Kentucky coach John Calipari have also visited with Calvin Lamb. Oklahoma coach Jeff Capel is due in on Tuesday.

**Texas A&M head coach Mark Turgeon had an in-home with Elizabeth (NJ) St. Patrick coach Kyrie Irving.

“Texas a and m in home was splendid,” Tweeted Kyrie, who now has more than 2,000 followers.

A&M associate head coach Scott Spinelli played college ball with Dred Irving at BU, so don’t count out the Aggies.

Kyrie will trip to Duke officially Sept. 25, Indiana Oct. 2 and A&M Oct. 9.

UConn, Seton Hall, Georgia Tech and Kentucky are also in the mix for the supremely talented PG whom Celtics coach Kevin Boyle told me will be the best guard ever to come out of the Garden State.

**The Tobias Harris Sweepstakes continues and UConn is still in the mix. Jim Calhoun and the UConn coaches met with Tobias at his school last week.

“We met earlier in the week and had a good visit,” Torrel Harris said by text.

**Tobias also had a home visit Monday with Oklahoma’s Capel that went very well. You can bet that Oklahoma mentions that Blake Griffin was the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft in every home visit.

“Oklahoma visit was awesome,” Torrel said by text. “We really like the presentation from Jeff Capel and his staff. We like the direction Coach Capel is leading his team to the next level and winning. He spoke about academics, his basketball program, development workouts and getting his players better.

“His basketball staff is strong and understands helping players improve their skill level. Very impressed by the future. Three years at Oklahoma, three first-round draft picks. Many NBA prospects to follow from his program.”

**6-8 Concord (Mass.) Middlesex wing Rod Odom had breakfast with Harvard coach Tommy Amaker and his wife and then dinner with Vandy coach Kevin Stallings and his staff Sunday night at the school. Stallings and company had an in-home with the Odoms Monday night.

New York Panthers AAU coach Gary Charles previously said Odom “loved the fact that Vandy had a pre-law and medical building plus immediate playing time.”

**Harrison Barnes, the wing out of Ames (Iowa) High ranked No. 2 in the Class of 2010, says he won’t release his in-home visit but is slated to visit Duke Oct. 23.

**Seton Hall Prep junior PG Sterling Gibbs visited Maryland unofficially over the weekend and had a good talk with Gary Williams.

“The visit went real well,” Gibbs said by text. “I was able to sit down with Coach Williams and all of the assistant coaches and talk about my future if I were to come to Maryland and then we took a tour around the campus and met with the academic director and later on in the night we went to the football game with the players.”

Gibbs, whose brother, Ashton Gibbs, plays at Pitt, may also visit Notre Dame Oct. 19 for the football game.

He previously said Villanova was his leader.

**Jesse Morgan, a 6-4 postgrad shooting guard at South Kent, has interest from UConn, Florida, Seton Hall, Temple, UMass, Georgia and Pittsburgh, according to South Kent coach Kelvin Jefferson.

**Marist men’s basketball head coach Chuck Martin will host the 2009 Hudson Valley Coaches Clinic on Sept. 26 at the McCann Center. Coaches who will speak at the event include Kentucky’s John Calipari, Drexel’s Bruiser Flint, UMass’ Derek Kellogg and Norm Roberts of St. John’s.

The pre-registration fee, which must be received by Sept. 23, is $70. A flat rate of $200 will be charged for three coaches from the same school who attend. A free gift from Anaconda Sports will be given to those who pre-register. The walk-up registration fee is $85.

The clinic includes breakfast and lunch. Registration is scheduled to begin at 8:15 a.m., and the program is scheduled to end at 3 p.m. The schedule for the clinic goes as follows:

8:15 a.m.: Registration
9-10 a.m.: Norm Roberts – Ballscreen Options
10:10 -11:10 a.m.: Bruiser Flint – Pressure Defense
12:30 -1:30 p.m.: John Calipari – Dribble Drive
1:40 – 2:40 p.m.: Derek Kellogg – Transition Offense

On Thursday night, Calipari and his staff met with the parents of Oak Hill (Va.) guard Doron Lamb, and on Wednesday they met with Dix Hills (N.Y.) Half Hollow Hills West forward Tobias Harris and his family.

“It was great,” said Calvin Lamb, Doron’s father. “They met with me and my wife.

“Basically [they talked about] how it would benefit my son to go there. The way they play fits his style. They say he’s a combo guard. He’s a strong combo guard. He plays both.”

Calvin said Calipari expressed strong interest in Lamb, the No. 3 shooting guard and No. 21 prospect in the Class of 2010. Doron was at Oak Hill and not the meeting.

“The way they made it seem, he’s one of their top priorities,” Calvin said.

Arizona head coach Sean Miller, in town for the New Heights coaching clinic on Saturday, meets with the Lambs on Saturday night and Oklahoma coach Jeff Capel comes in Tuesday.

On the same day Calipari met with Lamb’s parents, Kansas coach Bill Self met with Lamb and Oak Hill forward Roscoe Smith at Oak Hill.

“[The visit went] pretty well,” Oak Hill coach Steve Smith told TheShiver.com. “They [Smith and Lamb] are just going through the process.

“They both have a list of about five to eight schools,” Smith said. “They could decide late in the spring, or they could decide to end it early. Doron has about five schools he’s looking at in Kansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Arizona and UConn. Roscoe has a bit longer list with Kansas, Florida, Duke, Georgetown, UConn, Memphis and UCLA,” Smith added.

As for Calipari’s visit with Tobias and his family, Torrel Harris said the family is putting out a spread of fruits and gourmet cheese for all the coaches.

Kentucky was in Wednesday and Georgia Tech head coach Paul Hewitt and his staff came Thursday.

“Both of them went great,” Torrel said. “They’re great coaches. They were sincere. They sell their programs great.”

As for Calipari, Torrel said: “He was talking about his program and what he’s trying to accomplish. The good that he wants for his players, his graduating percentage of his players. A lot of his players respect him after they’ve played for him many, many years ago. He has a good rapport with players on the court.”

Harris had a tremendous summer and is now the No. 1 power forward and No. 5 prospect in the Class of 2010. His father wants a program that emphasizes the point forward role.

“He talked about how Tobias is gonna fit in,” Torrel said of Calipari. “He has a chance to be a special player and has a chance to play at the next level. You name it, we talked about it.”

As for Hewitt, Torrel said: “He came in with a real strong presentation, a lot of stats and facts on his accomplishments and so forth. He talked about the graduation rate of his players out of Georgia Tech. Everything about his program.”

Next up at the Harris household: Notre Dame Coach Mike Brey tonight.

Harris previously told me Tobias could commit after a home visit and before taking officials.

“We already visited all these schools,” he said. “We as a family, if we feel extremely comfortable with a particular school, after the home visits we may make a a decision.

“We already know all the schools.”

During a video interview with SNY.tv that will air in the coming days, Torrel Harris said the family will have in-home visits with the following schools: Kentucky, Syracuse, St. John’s, West Virginia, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Maryland, Louisville, Georgia Tech and UConn.

“I don’t have any favorites,” Tobias said.

After that they will cut the list to five and take official visits.

“Maybe [late September] we’ll cut it down it to like five schools and take the official visits,” Tobias added.

Harris, a 6-foot-8 combo forward from Dix Hills (N.Y.) Half Hollow Hills West, had a terrific summer on the recruiting circuit and is ranked No. 5 in the Class of 2010 by Rivals.

“We are finalizing some home visits and we’ll really have strong interviews with these coaches to see how his style of play fits into their game style of play,” Torrel said Thursday in Manhattan at a practice for Friday’s Boost Mobile Elite 24 event.

“We’re trying to watch those situations where coaches will allow him to show his versatility.”

Several schools tried to get involved with Harris after he cut his list to 12 last April, but Torrel said UCLA, Florida, Texas and Memphis simply didn’t make the final cut. Virginia and Rutgers, which were on the initial list, are also out.

“It comes down to we feel comfortable with the schools we already have that’s put in the two years,” Torrel said. “We don’t see how it could fit to add UCLA and Memphis and Florida to our list.

“Now people say, ‘Well, why did you add Kentucky? Cal [John Calipari] made an interesting point. He said, ‘I just got here. I’m new at this and then he recruited Tobias at Memphis and we really weren’t interested in Memphis at the time.

“So he said, ‘I’m at Kentucky. Can you give me a shot here?’

“So we said, we’ll take an unofficial [on the way to the Nike Global Challenge in Portland, Ore.]. If we like it we’ll consider it. We took a visit to Kentucky. We liked it. I thought it was a great situation so we added them on the list. That’s why they got added. You can’t fault a coach if he got a new position.”

Added Tobias: “It was a good visit. I liked the program. I liked the style of play. And Coach Calipari’s a good coach also.”

Memphis coach Josh Pastner also started on the job this year, but Torrel said Memphis didn’t make the cut.

“Josh has a good relationship with us because Josh coached Channing [Frye, Tobias' cousin] at Arizona,” he said. “But it just came that if I didn’t get to go and do an unofficial, it’s hard to add them on the list.”

St. Patrick coach Kevin Boyle confirming that to me today in a phone call.

Irving has already said he will visit both schools officially this fall, and he has yet to name any other planned officials.

“I would not be surprised at all if he went to Indiana,” said Boyle, whose team should be ranked among the top two or three in the nation this season. “There’s no question that Indiana has been there all along and has done a great job recruiting him. I think they have an outstanding chance of getting him.

“And I would not be surprised if he went to Duke,” Boyle added. “Any time you’re being recruited hard by the guy who’s the current and last Olympic coach [Mike Krzyzewski], it’s gonna definitely be a concern for any [other] school when Duke’s recruiting you.”

Boyle said he also wouldn’t discount Seton Hall as a dark horse.

“Seton Hall is a little bit on the outside, but they keep working, keep working,” Boyle said. “They might end up getting him at the end. Seton Hall’s worked tremendously hard on a consistent basis and who knows? Maybe all their hard work will pay off.”

The 6-1 Irving was recently named the MVP of the Nike Global Challenge. He plans to cut his list to five after the Boost Mobile Elite 24 game next Friday.

Kentucky, Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech and Virginia are also in the mix.

I know one thing: I’ll be there Dec. 9 for that UConn-Kentucky game. I just hope I don’t get poisoned like I did at the Big East Tournament, when an uncooked hot dog in the media room put me close to death. Ask Jeff, he was seated right next to me. I missed the 6-OT game between Syracuse and UConn…all thanks to a bad hot dog!

Irving has said he plans to take all five officials, meaning three would be left for the group that includes Kentucky, Georgia Tech, UConn, Notre Dame, Virginia, Texas A&M and Seton Hall.

The 6-foot-1 Irving just returned from Oregon, where he was named MVP of the Nike Global Challenge. He averaged 21.3 points and 4.3 assists at the event

“I was down in Orlando with him and he’s really taken it to another level since then,” said St. Patrick assistant coach Rae Miller.

Irving is taking a much needed day off from hoops on Tuesday, seeing a Broadway show in Manhattan, according to his Twitter feed.

“This is the only time I actually get to relax,” he wrote.

Irving, who plans on majoring in journalism in college, will play in the Boost Mobile Elite 24 event Aug. 21 in Harlem’s famed Rucker Park.

“End of August,” Torrel Harris, Tobias’ dad, wrote in a text.

Torrel added that the family was having a difficult time cutting down the list of more than a dozen schools and that new schools were still trying to get involved.

The 6-8 Harris out of Dix Hills (N.Y.) Half Hollow Hills West has a long list that includes Tennessee, UConn, Syracuse, Notre Dame, Maryland, Oklahoma, Georgia Tech, Rutgers, St. John’s, Virginia, Louisville and West Virginia.

“Memphis, Kentucky, Florida and UCLA are trying to get involved. We have not decided at this point to explore these schools,” Torrel said.

The 6-foot-2 Irving, out of Elizabeth (N.J.) St. Patrick, said he would wait until after the Boost Mobile Elite 24 event Aug. 22 in Harlem’s Rucker Park to trim his list, also around a dozen schools.

Some observers consider Indiana to be the unofficial leader for Irving because assistant coach Roshown McLeod has worked very hard to develop a relationship with Irving. Yet Duke, Indiana, Seton Hall, Texas A&M, Notre Dame and others are also involved.

“Pretty soon I’m gonna narrow down the schools. After Elite 24,” Irving wrote by text.

Both players had exceptionally strong summers on the circuit, with one Big East assistant coach calling Harris “the story of the summer.”

Irving, meanwhile, dropped 37 points in a victory over Michael Gilchrist and Team Final at the AAU Supershowcase in Orlando and then scored 39 points in a game at AAU Nationals.

Harris and Irving will head to Portland, Ore. Aug 7-9 for the Nike Global Challenge and both will participate in the Boost Mobile game to be shown live on ESPNU.

Rumors flew that coaches from other programs were whispering into Selby’s ear and taking advantage of Pearl’s absence.

Selby is now being recruited by everyone from Kentucky to Kansas to UConn to Maryland.

“I think as coaches, we want to ethically make sure that if a guy’s got a commitment, leave him alone,” Pearl told ESPN’s Andy Katz on Monday in Orlando in a segment that appeared on ESPNU. “Now, student-athletes have a right to do what’s in their best interests.

“And if they think it’s in their best interests to open up their recruiting and look at something else, then they should do that because I don’t want somebody that doesn’t want to necessarily play for us. And I think every mother or father wants what’s best for their kids.

“And if I’m not what’s best for their kids…then that’s fine. Then you go find somebody that is. I think the big thing is…Once I see a guy committed, that’s it. No more phone calls. You don’t put it out there, ‘In case we had interest, would you open up your recruiting?’

“It’s over, leave him alone.”

Translation: Pearl thinks some coaches tampered with Selby and he’s pissed.

HARRIS NAMED MVP IN ORLANDO

Long Island native Tobias Harris scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to earn MVP honors as the Albany City Rocks downed Mike Gilchrist and Team Final 68-64 at the Supershowcase in Orlando. The game was shown live on ESPNU.

“We got to show people that Gilchrist is a young fellow but Tobias is the old brother,” said Torrel Harris, Tobias’ dad.

Harris’ list of potential colleges includes: Tennessee, UConn, Syracuse, Notre Dame, Maryland, Oklahoma, Georgia Tech, Rutgers, St.John’s, Virginia, Louisville and West Virginia.

Memphis, Kentucky, Florida and UCLA are also trying to get involved.

Harris and his father say they will cut the list in August and reward those programs that have been most loyal and whose head coaches have been watching him in person.

COACHES FEELING EXTORTED FOR PACKAGES

One of the big stories coming out of Vegas is that college coaches felt “extorted” by the costs of some of the player packets they must buy to follow the teams.

The coaches have to pay several hundred bucks. In cash.

“The tough thing is some of these packets are $275-$300 and a lot of them are misinformation,” Xavier coach Chris Mack told ESPNU. “You get the packet and there’s no numbers, the rosters are wrong. I don’t know how to fix it, I think the NCAA may have to step in and say coaches aren’t allowed to pay for packets that are more than $100. Otherwise, they can’t go.

“Disney’s done it right. We’re here…I asked the lady if she had an extra roster how much would it cost me, and she said, ‘No, everything’s free.’ So I knew I was in DisneyWorld.”

The New York Times reported Tuesday that Kevin Weiberg, the chief executive of the newly formed IHoops, a joint venture between the NCAA and NBA to help clean up youth basketball, said his group would look into the issue.

PAUL HEWITT HAS HIGH EXPECTATIONS FOR FAVORS

Georgia Tech adds 6-9 forward Derrick Favors , the No. 1 big man in the Class of 2009, and Coach Paul Hewitt said he can be a factor immediately.

“The expectations are very high,” Hewitt told ESPNU. “He won the MVP of the McDonald’s All-American Game. He won the MVP of the Jordan Classic. The best thing about Derrick I can tell you, he’s been very, very well taught. His mom is a no-nonsense lady and it’s about taking care of school and making sure he’s a good citizen. And his coaches…they’ve all prepared him to just keep the game simple. Rebound, run the floor, score around the basket. I don’t think Derrick is one of these guys who’s going to try and shoot 3’s and put the ball behind his back.”

FREE THROWS

Pearl said the talent at Kentucky, Vanderbilt, South Carolina and Florida makes the SEC East “the toughest division in all of college basketball” this year. The core of seniors Tyler Smith (17.4 ppg), Wayne Chism (13.7 ppg) and JP Prince (9.9 ppg), plus the development of Bobby Maze and Scotty Hopson, should make the Vols competitive in the division. ”This is a big opportunity year for the Vols,” Pearl said…Bryant College went 8-21 last year as an independent but won’t be eligible for Division 1 competition for three more years. “We’re going to redshirt some kids and continue to build and hopefully when we become fully eligible we’ll have a veteran team that can compete right away for an NEC championship,” Bryant coach Tim O’Shea told ESPNU…Boston College lost Tyrese Rice (to the Washington Wizards summer league team) but returns Joe Trapani (13.4 ppg), Rakim Sanders (12.9 ppg) and Corey Raji (9.9). Coach Al Skinner says his team has “enough ingredients to have success and win close ballgames.”…Siena coach Fran McCaffery says Ronald Moore “is the guy that makes it all go” and Clarence Jackson, the league’s sixth man of the year a year ago, ”is the key to our season.” Jackson must replace departed star Kenny Hasbrouck….Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey told ESPNU the arrival of transfers Ben Hansbrough and Scott Martin “keeps us older. I’m excited to work with those guys.” As for the league itself, Brey said: “Cincinnati and Seton Hall are teams that aren’t being talked about enough, have very good personnel.”…Pitt coach Jamie Dixon says Greenburgh, N.Y. native Dante Taylor can potentially replace DeJuan Blair. “We think he’s going to be a real good player,” Dixon told ESPNU. “We recruited him with that in mind. We anticipated DeJuan wasn’t going to be back after his sophomore year. It’s a natural replacement. We think he’s a guy that can really give us good minutes and replace DeJuan. You’re not going to replace DeJuan…but then again DeJuan came out of nowhere, too. People didn’t expect that out of him.”…Dixon also said he thinks Seton Hall and St. John’s have a chance to move up in the Big East rankings next year.

Attend all of his games for the rest of the July evaluation period and make yourself visible.

UConn head coach Jim Calhoun, who recently sustained an injury in a bicycle accident at a charity event, made a particular impression on Torrel Harris during this week’s Nike Peach Jam in South Carolina where Tobias helped lead his team to the semifinals.

“Even Calhoun had three broken ribs and he stayed to the end,” Torrel, Tobias’ father, said in a phone interview. “That’s impressive.”

According to New Heights’ coach and athletic director Kimani Young, SITC will not only be a showcase for players but a welcome addition to the current summer landscape.

“We love traveling, but we also wanted to create an event that brought the experience home,” said Young. “We feel like New York is the center of the basketball universe and, as such, we thought there should be a tournament that capitalizes on that energy.”

Matt Pauls, the founder of Team NJABC says, “Our goal is to put on a quality event in partnership with our friends at New Heights. That means quality basketball, quality facilities, quality officiating and quality academic workshops.”

This year’s inaugural tournament will be held on July 28, 29, and 31 at St. John’s University. The invitation-only event will showcase some of the nations most talented 14/U, 15/U, 16/U and 17/U teams. College coaches from all over the country will be allowed to scout at the event.

Proceeds from Summer In The City will help support the programs at New Heights Youth, Inc, a NYC-based non-profit organization with a mission “to inspire inner city youth to be leaders, champions and student-athletes and empower them to be successful in high school, college and life.” (www.newheightsnyc.org) and Team NJABC, a program that focuses on developing young people into positive contributors to society.
TOBIAS HARRIS UPDATE

I have a story coming out Friday on SNY.tv on Tobias Harris, but wanted to give some highlights of my interviews today with Tobias and his dad, Torrel.

** The current list of potential colleges looks like this: Tennessee, UConn, Syracuse, Notre Dame, Maryland, Oklahoma, Georgia Tech, Rutgers, St.John’s, Virginia, Kentucky, Louisville and West Virginia.

**Memphis, Kentucky, Florida and UCLA are also trying to get involved.

**UConn head coach Jim Calhoun scored major points by staying to watch all of Tobias’ games at the Peach Jam, even though he has “broken ribs,” Torrel said.

**The family is intrigued by John Calipari, who has sent numerous players to the NBA after one year, including Tyreke Evans this year.

**They also have a relationship with Memphis coach Josh Pastner, who coached Channing Frye at Arizona. Frye is Tobias’ cousin.

**The family values loyalty and thus the coaches who have attended most of Tobias’ summer games will have the edge.

“If the head coach ain’t recruiting Tobias, they don’t have a chance,” Torrel said.

**They plan to cut the list to about five in August and then take official visits from there.

**Tobias heads to Florida later this month for AAU Nationals and the Super Showcase.

“To me it’s just an honor to have all these coaches,” Tobias said. “I’m just blessed to be in the situation that I’m in. I just need to stay humble and not let it get to my head. We will wait until after the summer to cut down my list and see which college is best for me.”

ALL-OHIO WINS PEACH JAM

All-Ohio Red, the team that beat Harris and the Albany City Rocks in the semifinals at the Peach Jam, won the championship Wednesday night with a 62-53 come-from-behind victory over Team Final.

Ohio State-bound 6-8, 260-pound center Jared Sullinger (at left courtesy ESPN.com) continued to star on the summer scene, scoring 19 points (15 in the second half) and grabbing 21 rebounds in the win.

Elizabeth (N.J.) St. Patrick star Michael Gilchrist led the way for Team Final with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Tyreek Duran of Philly Neumann-Goretti added 12 points and 6-9 Rakeem Christmas of Philly NOrth Catholic notched five blocks.

Harris, the 6-foot-8 rising senior forward at Dix Hills (N.Y.) Half Hollow Hills West, dominated at the LeBron James Skills Academy and was the sixth-leading scorer (13.3 ppg) at the NBA Top 100 Camp in Charlottesville, Va. Now he’s turning heads at the Peach Jam.

Harris has a slew of big-time coaches falling all over themselves to get him.

“He’s the best offensive forward in the country,” the coach said. “He can face up, he can post up, he can drive. He can do everything. If they took a picture of his body from last year and compared it to this year, he can make millions of dollars doing body sculpting or weight loss ads. He looks thin, quick and bouncy.

“He’s really good. He’s the story of the summer.”

Harris told Jeff Goodman of FoxSports.com that he has shed 15 pounds of baby fat with a routine in which he woke up at 5 a.m. every day, ran two miles, worked out after school and also trained at 9 p.m. on his speed and agility.

“I feel a lot faster,” said Harris, who dropped to 210 from 22 pounds. “Everything comes easier.”

According to Torrel Harris, his son’s list now includes Kentucky and Memphis and looks like this: Kentucky, Memphis, Tennessee, UConn, Syracuse, Notre Dame, Maryland, Georgia Tech, Rutgers, St.John’s, Virginia, Kentucky, Louisville and West Virginia.

Harris has tripped to Georgia Tech, Tennessee and Notre Dame and also plans to see Kentucky.

“At the end of the summer we will cut the list to five schools and by the end of September we will have a college decision,” Torrel said.

“When we pick our five, everybody’s going to know.”

***

Doron Lamb of Oak Hill told Jeff Borzello of the NBE Report that his list includes Kentucky, Kansas, Oklahoma, Marquette, UConn, Arizona, Rutgers and St. John’s.

He said he liked his recent visit to Kentucky and wants to see Kansas and Oklahoma.

***

Richard Deitsch, my onetime Columbia classmate, has a lot of good laughs in his “Media Circus” column, where he covers LeBron James, Serena Williams and Jason Whitlock.
