Here are some snippets and highlights of what’s going on:

**First off, Frantz Massenat, a 2010 guard from Trenton Catholic, committed to Drexel on Wednesday. Jerian Grant, a 6-4 shooting guard from DeMatha (Md.), committed to Notre Dame.

**Kansas head coach Bill Self and his staff met with Baltimore (Md.) Lake Clifton point guard Josh Selby (pictured) and his mother, Maeshon Witherspoon, on Wednesday. Selby decommitted from Tennessee and probably won’t sign until the spring.

“The visit went well,” Witherspoon told TheShiver.com. “Coach Self, Coach Dooley and Coach Townsend were there. They told us about the school and the program.

“They (KU) have a real history. Great coaches like Larry Brown, Roy Williams and something I didn’t know, Wilt Chamberlain went there. I thought that was something there,” added Witherspoon.

**Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski came to New Jersey to meet with Elizabeth (NJ) St. Patrick point guard Kyrie Irving.

“It went well,” said Dred Irving, Kyrie’s dad.

Kyrie will trip to Duke officially Sept. 25 and to Indiana Oct. 2.

**Memphis head coach Josh Pastner met Wednesday night with Memphis White Station point guard Joe Jackson at Jackson’s home.

Memphis has long targeted Jackson to join Will Barton in the backcourt in2010, but Eric Robinson, Jackson’s AAU guy, said, “No commitment yet.

Tennessee comes to meet with Jackson Thursday and Kansas Friday.

**Kentucky coach John Calipari went to Long Island to meet with Dix Hills (NY) Half Hollow Hills West forward Tobias Harris and his family. Harris is considering 11 schools and is looking for a place that will emphasize the point forward position.

“The home visit was great,” Torrel Harris said by text. “We are very impressed with Kentucky, Coach Cal and his coaching staff.

**Calipari will meet with the family of Oak Hill (Va.) combo guard Doron Lamb tonight (Thursday). Oklahoma head coach Jeff Capel visits with Calvin Lamb on Tuesday. Arizona assistant Book Richardson was the only coach at Oak Hill on Wednesday to visit with Lamb himself.

**Indiana head coach Tom Crean tripped to Mountain State in Beckley, West Va. on Wednesday night and checked out 6-10 Turkish forward Enes Kanter, who just recently left Findlay (Nev.) Prep, and 7-foot, 200-pound center Obij Aget.

“It went great. He really likes both of those kids. He was happy with the talent,” Mountain State coach Rodney Crawford said.

New Mexico State was also in the house at Mountain State.

**Pittsburgh is having a home visit tonight (Thursday) at the home of South Kent (Conn.) forward J.J. Moore. Moore will be at school so coaches will meet with his mother, Panthers coach Gary Charles and mentor Hunt Bresky. Providence comes Friday, Marquette and Louisville on Saturday and Florida on Sunday.

**Providence coach Keno Davis will hit St. Anthony on Friday to check out 6-8 senior Devon Collier, who has already tripped unofficially to the Big East school.

**6-7 forward Derrick Williams of St. Anthony will visit Richmond on Friday after the school visited his home Wednesday. He has a home visit today with St. Bonaventure.

Williams will visit the Bonnies on Sept. 18 and potentially Penn State Nov. 7.

**Seton Hall Prep junior guard Sterling Gibbs said via text that he plans on going to Maryland Saturday for a tour and the football game.

“And I’ll probably go to Notre Dame Oct. 19 for the Notre Dame vs. USC game and a tour,” he said.

**Neumann-Goretti guard Tyreek Duren will take an official to Temple this weekend and will also visit La Salle (9/18) and UMass (9/26).

After scoring 16 points and grabbing 6 rebounds in the New York Panthers 59-58 semifinal loss to Team NJABC at the Joe Brown Memorial Tournament, Gibbs said he plans to take unofficial visits this summer to Oklahoma, Indiana, Villanova, Kentucky and Duke.

His father, Temple Gibbs, said his son could decide later this summer.

“We want to make a commitment by the end of the summer. I just want to get him set,” Temple said.

Gibbs and his older brother, Pitt sophomore Ashton Gibbs, both won gold medals this summer with USA Basketball. Sterling won a gold with the U16 team in Argentina, and Ashton won it all with the U19 team at the FIBA World Championship in New Zealand. That team was coached by Pitt head coach Jamie Dixon.

Sterling and the Panthers won the Reebok Summer Classic last weekend in Neptune, N.J. Their team is coached by Nets point guard Rafer Alston.

Sterling has previously said that Villanova was his favorite, but a slew of coaches were on hand Wednesday — the last day of the first portion of the July evaluation period — to check him and the other recruits out. Rutgers head coach Fred Hill, St. Joe’s head coach Phil Martelli, FDU head coach Greg Vetrone, Rider coach Tommy Dempsey, Pitt assistant Brandin Knight, St. John’s assistants Chris Casey and Oz Cross, Providence assistant Pat Skerry, Seton Hall assistant Kevin Murphy, St. Peter’s assistant John Morton and coaches from Temple, Columbia, Drexel and Albany were on hand.

TEAM NJABC WINS TITLE

Team NJABC downed Team Philly 66-56 to win the championship.

Markese Tucker of Trenton Catholic scored 21 points and grabbed 7 rebounds and his TC teammate Frantz Massenat had 9 points and 7 assists.

David Appolon had 16 points for Team Philly, which was playing without star guard Juanya Green.

In the semifinals, Tucker had 15 points, Massenat 14 and Wayne Newsome 11 for team NJABC in their win over the Panthers. Deshaun Wiggins scored 11 for the Panthers.

In the other semi, Team Philly beat the Playaz behind 19 points from Lamin Fulton and 14 from Ameen Tanksley. Myles Davis had 17 and Ronald Roberts 13 for the Playaz.

FREE THROWS

Oak Hill guard Doron Lamb will visit Kansas in August, per The Shiver. He has visited Kentucky and plans to see Oklahoma. Lamb said his list consists of Kentucky, Oklahoma, UConn, Rutgers, Arizona, Marquette, and Pitt..Ryan Rhoomes, the 6-8 big man from Cardozo High, said he has offers from St. John’s, Seton Hall, Rutgers, George Mason and VCU. “I’ll probably decide in the next couple of weeks or months,” he said. “I’ll probably visit St. John’s because it’s close. That’s probably first on the list.”

Ashton Pankey, the rising senior forward from Jersey City St. Anthony has a list of Rice, Miami, Providence and Siena, according to New Heights director Kimani Young…Teaneck coach Curtis March said former Teaneck and Queen of Peace guard Javae King-Gilchrist will attend Jackson (Texas) Community College and holds an offer from Texas. Shomari Barber, his former Teaneck teammate, will attend Harvard..Martelli told a funny story about how Villanova coach Jay Wright was a counselor of his in the summer of 1975 at the National All-Star Basketball Camp run by Ed Rush. Martelli was a student at Widener College at the time…Speaking of Joe’s, Linden big man David Bruce will not suit up for the Hawks next year because of academic reasons. Daryus Quarles, a 6-6 senior wing who committed to Joe’s, will play for Paulsboro.

CORRECTION: Life Center Academy is not closing, Living Faith Christian Academy is closing. Life Center Academy just finished a $17 million sports complex on its campus, according to head coach Wilson Arroyo. The team features Syracuse commit Dion Waiters and will face a tough independent schedule that includes Findlay Prep, Oak Hill, St. Anthony and St. Patrick.

The news was first reported by Alex Schwartz of Northstar Basketball.

“He’ll be out for the season,” associate coach MIke Connors said. “He’ll redshirt. It’s a tough blow because the kid worked hard. He was expected to play. He hurt it in practice. It was a typical pickup game and he came down wrong.”

The 6-foot Fouch is expected to be out 6-8 months.

“I’m kind of down, but I got to [take] the time to get it stronger and get my game stronger,” Fouch told Schwartz. “Hopefully I can heal fast.”
