Precious Achiuwa, the 6-foot-9, 215-pound wing from the New Heights AAU program and Montverde (FL) Academy, says several schools are involved in his recruitment.
“It has been the same schools that everyone talks about with me, really. Kansas and UConn, you know. St. John’s and UCLA, along with a few others,” he told Corey Evans of Rivals.com in Washington, D.C.
UConn assistant Kimani Young visited Achiuwa last Friday at Montverde.
Achiuwa has also taken an unofficial to Western Kentucky, sources said.
Achiuwa’s mentor, Oz Cross, said official visits likely won’t happen until later this winter or in the spring.
“I haven’t decided,” Achiuwa said. “I don’t have a timeline just yet but I need to still speak with my family about where and when I will visit some of these places.”

We’ve had other players make the pros. “The thing with Precious is, his tools are different. He’s 6-9. His hands are big. He’s athletic. He touches almost the top of the backboard. He blocks shots, he dunks, he runs the floor, he can shoot the three. He just has so many different things that he can do that he can dominate in different areas of the game, which is rare.” He added: “I think everybody in the country should offer him. The kid is that good and he’s got a 3.8 GPA, so he’s the complete package on and off the court.” Photo: Under Armour Follow Adam Zagoria on Twitter And Like ZAGS on Facebook
