Tyler Bertram, the 6-foot-4 guard from Vermont Academy (VT) and the NY Rens AAU program, cut his list to seven schools on Wednesday.

He broke down each school for ZAGSBLOG.

Loyola Chicago: :I love the way coach [Porter] Moser runs his offense and I feel it really fits me. It’s a great balance between academics and basketball.”

St. Joe’s: “Coach [Phil] Martelli was one of the first coaches to offer me and we’ve built a great relationship. I love the pace they play with and how they run the program.”

UNC Charlotte: “I really like Coach [Ron] Sanchez and his pedigree. He’s been behind one of the greatest coaches in college basketball. Coach Bennett, and the type of offense they plan to execute will fit me really well.”

Hofstra: “Coach [Joe] Mihalich is another one who has built the relationship over time. With the guys they are losing next year, I believe I could have a major impact right away.”

GW: “GW has a great balance between academics and basketball. I believe that I can have an impact right away. Also, Washington, D.C. is a tremendous spot for networking.”

Rice: “The program is in a great conference and the style of play fits me. The academics are great, so it offers a nice blend of elite education and strong basketball.”

Brown: “Brown speaks for itself academically. It would be an amazing opportunity for me to graduate from there. I love the coaches and the way they run the program, too.”
