Tyrese Maxey, the 6-foot-3 point guard from South Garland (TX), has committed to Kentucky, he announced on Twitter Wednesday.

Maxey chose the Wildcats over Texas, Oklahoma State, Michigan and Michigan State.

Maxey joins five-star point guard Ashton Hagans and four-star D.J. Jeffries in head coach John Calipari’s 2019 recruiting class.

There were rumors of Maxey reclassifying to 2018, but that won’t be the case anymore.

James Wiseman, the No.1 player in the 2019 class, is also considering Kentucky and said he’d like to play alongside Maxey and Hagans.

According to 247Sports, Maxey is the No. 13 player in the nation and the No. 2 prospect at his position.
