  • Duke a unanimous No. 1 in AP Top 25 hoops; Arizona drops out of poll from No. 2 slot after 3 losses

    Duke remained No. 1 in the new AP poll and Arizona (3-3), which had been No. 2 last week, dropped out after losing three straight games last week in the Battle 4 Atlantis.

    Kansas chimed in at No. 2, followed by Michigan State, Villanova and Notre Dame, all of which won tournaments in the last week. Duke and Michigan State both won their brackets in the PK80 Invitational, Villanova won the Battle 4 Atlantis for their fifth straight November tournament championship and Notre Dame won the Maui Invitational.

    Bobby Hurley and Arizona State entered the poll at No. 20, while Seton Hall dropped out after losing to Dan Hurley and Rhode Island on Thursday in the NIT Season Tip-Off, which was won by Virginia, now No. 18.
