Mohamed Bamba, the Texas freshman center who is a projected lottery pick in next year’s NBA Draft, sat out the Longhorns’ 78-60 victory over New Hampshire on Tuesday. The Harlem, N.Y, native suffered a concussion in practice on Sunday when he took an accident elbow and is in the program’s concussion protocol. He sat on the bench for the game.

Bamba, a candidate for the Wooden and Naismith Awards, had notched a 15-point, eight-rebound performance in the team’s season-opening win against Northwestern State.

Without him, junior forward Dylan Osetkowski registered his second-straight double-double, notching a game-high 14 reobunds to go along with his season-high 17 points in 34 minutes of action.

Four Longhorns joined Osetkowski in double figures. Junior Kerwin Roach III recorded 12 points, while sophomore Andrew Jones contributed 16. Junior Eric Davis Jr. and sophomore Jacob Young both added 11 points and three rebounds.

Texas returns to action on Saturday with a home matchup against Lipscomb.
