DJ Jeffries, the 6-foot-7 small forward from Olive Branch (MS) High School, took an unofficial to Kentucky last weekend (Oct. 14) for Big Blue Madness. He spoke with D1VISION on Tuesday about his visit.

“What appealed to me most was how much their fans care about the team,” Jeffries told D1 Vision about Kentucky. “I also liked how everybody on the team and staff is a family.”

Kentucky hosted a slew of 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021 recruits including Zion Williamson, Darius Garland, and Bol Bol from 2018,  2019 prospects James WisemanTyrese MaxeyKeion Brooks, 2020 prospects Jalen Johnson and Jaemyn Brakefield, and 2021 prospect Zion Harmon. 2018 Kentucky commit Immanuel Quickley was also in attendance.

“They said that there are really no positions as long as you can play and do the basic stuff,” Jeffries said. “If you know how to play with other good players then you’ll be able to fit in the system.” Kentucky offered Jeffries last month.

According to 247Sports, Jeffries is ranked as the No. 15 overall player in the Class of 2019 and the No. 1 player from the state of Mississippi.
