Jalen Johnson, the 6-foot-7 small forward from Sun Prairie (WI) High School, took an unofficial visit to Kentucky last weekend (Oct. 14) for Big Blue Madness. He broke down his visit for ZAGSBLOG on Tuesday.

“What appealed to me most was the mindset they have towards the game,” said Johnson. “They love to win and compete. They want to make every player the best they can and I love that about them. The campus and facilities are really nice as well.”

Kentucky also hosted 2018 recruits Zion Williamson, Darius Garland, and Bol Bol, 2019 prospects James WisemanTyrese Maxey, DJ JeffriesKeion Brooks, 2020 prospect Jaemyn Brakefield, and 2021 prospect Zion Harmon. Kentucky commit Immanuel Quickley also visited for Big Blue Madness. Jeffries spoke with D1Vision about his visit to Big Blue Madness.

According to 247Sports, Johnson is ranked as the No. 8 overall player in the Class of 2020. In addition to his Kentucky visit, Johnson also took an unofficial visit to Wisconsin last month (Sept. 29). He has no other upcoming visits planned at the moment.

“They play positionless basketball,” said Johnson about Kentucky. “They said they like players that can dominate for 4-5 minutes straight.”

Although Kentucky is yet to offer, Johnson currently holds offers from schools such as Wisconsin, Purdue, Marquette, and Iowa, among others. He is also receiving interest from schools such as Duke, North Carolina, and Michigan, among others.
