Former Ohio State guard JaQuan Lyle is transferring to New Mexico and will be eligible for the 2018-19 season.

A rising junior and Ohio State’s third leading scorer from last season, the 6-foot-5 Lyle quit the team in April. He averaged 11.4 points in a season that saw the Buckeyes finish without even an NIT invitation. He was the fifth and final member of a 2015 recruiting class to leave. The other four previously transferred out, each saying Ohio State wasn’t a good fit for them.

After the season, Thad Matta was let go and Chris Holtmann was hired as the new Ohio State coach.
