Syracuse has signed 6-foot-9, 200-pound Slovakian forward Marek Dolezaj, the school announced on Wednesday.

The Eurohopes Twitter reported earlier this week he had committed.

Dolezaj visited the Syracuse campus earlier this month.

“I want to be better and I want to be in the NBA,” Dolezaj told Scout in February.

“I can study there and I can play high level of basketball and may be easier to get into the NBA,” he added.

Dolezaj told the site he can play multiple positions.

“I’m told I can play the position two or three.” Dolezaj said. “I can shoot and I can play as a tall or small player.”

Dolezaj competed at MBK Karlovka in Bratislava. During the 2016-17 season, Dolezaj averaged 10.1 points and 4.21 rebounds over 33 games.

He has international experience as well. Dolezaj helped Slovakia place third in the 2016 FIBA Under-18 European Championship. He averaged 13.4 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game in eight contests at the event, according to fiba.com. In the 2015 FIBA Under-18 European Championship, Dolezaj averaged 9.1 points, 9.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists while Slovakia was 4-5. Dolezaj averaged 4.7 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists in seven games for Slovakia in the 2013 FIBA Under-16 European Championship.

Vanderbilt, Florida and Georgia Tech were also interested in him, per Scout.

Dolezaj joins point guard Howard Washington, forward Oshae Brissett and big man Bourama Sidibe in Syracuse’s 2017 recruiting class.
