Brian Bowen, the 6-foot-7 small forward who led La Lumiere (Ind.) to the Dick’s Nationals championship earlier this month in New York, is still weighing his five schools of Arizona, Creighton, Michigan State, N.C. State and Texas, but also visited Oregon on Monday with his mother, a source confirmed to ZAGSBLOG.
“Oregon’s trying to talk to me because Troy [Brown’s] been talking to me as well,” he said at the recent Jordan Brand Classic. “They’ve just called because they know I haven’t decided yet.”
Bowen then mentioned Ohio State and Missouri, and told Rivals.com on Friday at the BallisLife.com All-American Game in California that Florida State is now involved.
Bowen also has been linked to DePaul after the school hired former La Lumiere coach Shane Heirman and then on Monday landed a commitment from point guard Tyger Campbell, who will reclassify to 2018 from 2019.
“At this point I’m just weighing all my options,” he told Rivals. “It’s all about me picking the right school. Every program has given me their best pitch and now it’s just about when I want to make my decision,” Bowen said.
Bowen said at the Jordan Game that DeAndre Ayton continues to recruit him to Arizona, which has lost several guys to the NBA Draft, including Kobi Simmons and Lauri Markkanen.
Arizona freshman Rawle Alkins is also testing the NBA Draft waters, and worked out for Oklahoma City last Sunday.
“I’m looking at that as well,” Bowen told Rivals. “It’s just wherever I feel is the best fit for me.”
In terms of Michigan State, he told Rivals, “Miles Bridges returning to MSU caught me off guard a little bit but really I’m not that surprised he decided to stay.”
