  • Recruiting Roundup: Trevon Duval, Kevin Knox, Zion Williamson, Luther Muhammad (UPDATED)

    Share Zagsblog Share Zagsblog
Uncommitted Class of 2017 point guard Trevon Duval will take his final visit to Seton Hall beginning Wednesday, March 8.

The Big East Tournament runs Wednesday-Saturday night at Madison Square Garden, and No. 5 Seton Hall opens play on Thursday at 2:30 against No. 4 Marquette.

The 6-foot-3 Duval has taken official visits to Kansas, Duke, Arizona and Baylor, with Seton Hall his final remaining school.

About 150 Seton Hall fans, along with head coach Kevin Willard and his entire staff, watched Duval last month when his IMG Academy beat The Patrick School at Roselle Catholic.

“It’s good, I mean he misses it,” Trevor Duval said of the warm welcome his son received that day. “He has a lot of friends here he went to school with and some of his family came out to see him. So it’s good. From a young age, he had to sacrifice a lot by playing at a lot of schools [on] a national schedule, so it’s good to come back home and see some of his old coaches and friends come out.”

Duval is the No. 1-ranked point guard in the Class of 2017 and the projected No. 6 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, per DraftExpress.com.

    UNC TO HOST KNOX, WILLIAMSON

North Carolina will play host to a slew of big-time recruits for Saturday’s Duke game, including Kevin Knox, Zion Williamson, Coby White, Jalek Felton, Leaky Black, Wendell Moore and Jairus Hamilton.

The 6-7 Knox is down to North Carolina, Duke, Kentucky and Florida State, and will meet with the UNC staff after the game and with the Duke staff at Duke on Sunday morning, per ESPN’s Paul Biancardi.

UNC coach Roy Williams watched Knox score 40 points on Wednesday in a state playoff game.

Knox told ZAGSBLOG, “Mid-April for a decision.”

He will play in the McDonald’s All-American Game March 29 in Chicago, and the Jordan Brand Classic April 14 at Barclays Center.

The 6-8 Williamson is the No. 2-ranked player in the Class of 2018 per ESPN and is considering UNC, Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, South Carolina and Clemson, among others.

His mother, Sharonda, told ZAGSBLOG reports that Williamson had trimmed his list are not true.

“He did not, he doesn’t even have a list,” she said. “We are still enjoying the recruiting process and visiting schools.”

ESPN this week quotes sources saying Williamson was focusing on Kansas, Duke, South Carolina and Kentucky.

“He did an interview on SportsCenter and he said his recruiting is wide open,” she said. “Then some guy gets up and there says a source told him that. We are like ‘what.'”
