Jarred Vanderbilt, the 6-8 small forward from Victory Prep (TX) School, announced a final four of UNC, Kentucky, TCU, and Oregon on Sunday.

Vanderbilt broke down all four schools for ZAGSBLOG:

Kentucky: “I feel like they’re just proven. Coach Cal [John Calipari] is a Hall of Fame coach. He gets the best out of his guys. They really develop them and that’s great.”

North Carolina: “The same with Roy Williams and North Carolina. He’s also a Hall of Fame coach. He has a great résumé of putting guys in the right position and developing them as well. North Carolina has a family atmosphere too,”

TCU: “I feel like coach [Jamie] Dixon is starting a new culture at TCU. He’s had a great past at Pittsburgh. He’s bringing that to a new environment at TCU. They’re bringing in some great guys with their recruiting class, and my cousin [Corey Barker] is on staff as well. I always keep that in consideration.”

Oregon:I like the fact that coach [Dana] Altman really lets his guy’s play. They play position-less basketball and they’re in the Pac-12. The Pac-12 is an up and down league. I’m a transition type of guy so that really stands out to me.

Vanderbilt is also close to making his decision, as he said, “Hopefully sometime this week or next week,” he continued. “I don’t have an exact date yet.”

He also talked about the possibility of entering the NBA Draft after his freshman year, saying, “Right now, my goal is to be a one-and-done player. Whatever school gives me the best opportunity to showcase my game and be a lottery pick next year, that’s the main thing for me.”
