Jordan Tucker, the 6-foot-7 wing from Marietta (GA) Wheeler, attended No. 1 Villanova’s 78-57 victory over Temple on Tuesday at The Pavilion.

Tucker, who ran with the NY Rens on the Nike EYBL circuit last summer, also took an official visit to Indiana on Nov. 30 for the North Carolina game and is focusing on those two schools.

“I was planning on committing after those two visits,” he said earlier this month. “Not right away but soon. I’m trying to but my goal is to commit in January [or] February the latest.”

    QUENTIN GRIMES ADDS LOUISVILLE OFFER

Back in February, Quentin Grimes had just one offer: from Rice University.

Now, about a year later, the 6-5 guard from The Woodlands (TX) College Park has about 30 offers.

His most recent one came Tuesday night when Louisville assistant Kenny Johnson offered Grimes.

He also holds offers from the likes of Virginia, Arizona, Kansas, Florida and Baylor.

“I think our program and our head coach [Teddy Wheeler] did a good job of helping him with his deficiencies,” said Grimes’ AAU coach, Rhossi Caron of Basketball University. “He’s always been talented.

“In his high school he played the three and the four, but we put him at point because we feel that’s his natural position because of his gifts and he can pass and his feel for the game. Our coach just kind of put him in position and showing him some things to delete and add to his game. He’s 6-5 and 195 pounds and he’s super-athletic so he’s turning the corner. Now he has about 30 high-major offers.”

Grimes has no visits planned, but he has already taken unofficials to Kentucky, Arizona, Oklahoma, Texas, Baylor and Texas A&M.

“I don’t expect him to make a decision until fall,” Caron said, “but early in the fall I expect him to kind of know.”

LUGUENTZ DORT WILL TAKE THREE OFFICIALS IN EARLY 2017

Luguentz Dort, a hard-driving and electrifying 6-4 Class of 2018 point guard at the Conrad (FL) School, will take three officials in early 2017 but has not set any plans yet.

Louisville, Florida, Baylor, Oregon and UNLV are “working hard,” his AAU coach Nelson Osse of PXknights said by phone.

“He will take three officials during January February,” Osse said. “We don’t know [where] yet, but we’ll probably take three. He’s going to be home for the holidays and we’ll probably sit down and evaluate it.”

St. John’s and UNLV are also expected to watch him on Sunday in Orlando.

“[St. John’s really likes him, they’re going to watch him play,” Osse said. “It’s an honor to be recruited by schools like St. John’s. He’s enjoying the process and he’s taking everyone serious. I don’t think there’s a frontrunner. I think playing for coach [Chris] Mullin and Mitch Richmond out there could be a plus for him.

“Everybody’s serious right now, I can’t say there’s one we like more than the other. He’s wide open.”

    AYALA CONSIDERING RECLASSIFYING

Eric Ayala, a 6-5 point Class of 2018 point guard from Putnam Science Academy (CT), is considering reclassifying to 2017, head coach Tom Espinosa confirmed. “It’s always been an option,” he said, adding that Maryland and Providence were among the schools working hard.

Terrell Myers of WE-R1 said Ayala would be the best point in the Class of 2018, but is evaluating his options and wants to have his academics in order for 2017 in case he finds the right situation.

    FREE THROWS

Hameir Wright, a 6-7 senior at The Albany (NY) Academy, plans to attend Brewster (N.H.) Academy, City Rocks coach Jim Hart confirmed. “I’d say Syracuse and Maryland are working the hardest,” he said. “UCLA, Michigan State and Notre Dame” have come on….Aundre Hyatt, the 6-7 2019 forward from The Miller School (GA), said Providence, St. John’s and Yale are working the hardest. He will be on display this weekend at the City Legendz event at Gauchos gym.
