HYATTSVILLE, Md.Trevon Duval threw down an electrifying dunk on Saturday at the National High School Hoops Festival en route to game MVP honors.

After going for 17 points and 9 assists in IMG Academy’s 86-69 win over Gray Collegiate at DeMatha Catholic High School, Duval broke down his top five schools.

The 6-foot-3 point guard from IMG Academy (FL) is considering Arizona, Baylor, Duke, Kansas and Seton Hall, and will be one of the most interesting storylines in the spring signing period.

Duke was the most recent to offer and they’re making him a top target at the point guard spot.

“Just coming in there,” he said of Duke. “They need a point guard so that sort of thing they’re really pitching to me that I can come in and run the show as a point guard.”

Kansas is also in the mix and will need guards to replace Frank Mason and possibly Devonte’ Graham.

“Kansas was fun,” Duval said of his recent visit. “That was my first time out. They treated me well. I loved the environment that the guys plan in.”

Arizona is known as “Point Guard U” and has another tremendous recruiting class under Coach Sean Miller that includes DeAndre Ayton, the projected No. 1 pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. Duval is currently projected at No. 6 by DraftExpress.com.

“Arizona, they get up and down [as they’re a] Pac 12 school,” Duval said. “They fit my style of play and I’m really close with both of the coaches [including assistant Book Richardson].”

Baylor, off to an undefeated start with three-Top 25 wins under Coach Scott Drew, is also in Duval’s top five.

“Baylor, they’re a top 10 team,” he said. “They’re good this year. Their coach lets their guys go so that’s what I like about them.”

And lastly Duval talked about the first school to offer him, Seton Hall. Associate head coach Shaheen Holloway was expected to watch Duval on Sunday.

“Seton Hall is my first offer really,” he said. “I’m pretty close with the guys on the team and the coaches and they also run a lot of pick-and0rolls which is something I like to do so they fit me, too,” said Duval.

Duval has no favorites and says no school is recruiting harder than the other.
