Nate Pierre-Louis, the 6-foot-4, 187-pound point guard from Roselle (N.J.) Catholic and the Sports U AAU program, verbally committed to Temple during an official visit in Saturday.

He told SNY.tv he also considered Georgia Tech, Michigan and Vanderbilt.

“Nate can really do great things at the next level,” RC coach Dave Boff said. “He’s an extremely hard worker which you need to be in college to have success. He’s strong and skilled, he will be a great fit.”

Said his AAU coach Brian Coleman: “Nate is going to bring a lot of toughness and hunger to Temple. I’ve never met a kid who loved basketball as much as Nate. He wants to be great and isn’t afraid to put the countless hours in to achieve that goal.

“He’s also bringing a good locker room guy to Temple as well. He’s a great kid who’s very coachable and low maintenance off the court. He’s a stand up kid all the way.

“As for his basketball, he’s a guy who can put points on the ball. He’s gritty on defense. He’s a heck of a rebounder for his size. He’s a combo right now that’s worknig very hard on his point guard skills and has improved greatly over on high school season. Temple’s staff really loves what Nate is going to bring to the team when he arrives and he has a great relationship with the staff as well. It’s a great get for Temple.”

Pierre-Louis will now attempt to help lead RC to a New Jersey Non-Public B state title and another Tournament of Champions crown alongside teammates like Leondre Washington, Kahlil Whitney and Naz Reid. RC won the TofC in 2013 and 2015.
