    4_2943895DeAndre Hunter, a 6-foot-7 wing from Philadelphia Friends’ Central, committed to Virginia on Saturday night.

    The news was first reported by Scout.com.

    The No. 18 shooting guard in the Class of 2016 according to 247Sports.com, Hunter committed despite having official visits set for Oklahoma State, Notre Dame and Miami (Fl.), according to COBL.com.

    He had recently cut his list to 11 schools, including those mentioned above and Villanova, Arizona State, UConn, Southern Methodist, Saint Joseph’s, Maryland and Alabama.

    Hunter, who averaged 21.6 points last season at Friends’ Central, is Virginia’s fourth commit for the Class of 2016, following point guard Ty Jerome, shooting guard Kyle Guy and big man Jay Huff.
