image_handler-aspxSYRACUSE — As Fordham continues to search for a replacement for Tom Pecora, several new names have surfaced.

Along with Rider coach Kevin Baggett, who was already in the mix, Eastern Kentucky coach Jeff Neubauer and NJIT coach Jimmy Engles are also now involved. SNY.tv reported the Neubauer development Saturday night, and ESPN’s Jeff Goodman also Tweeted Neubauer and Engles as options.

Engles has guided NJIT into the CIT semifinals, where they will play at Northern Arizona Tuesday night.

Sources said Fordham is only offering about $500,000 which has turned away several high-profile coaches. Robert Morris coach Andy Toole already turned the job down.

Pecora reportedly made approximately $700,000 when he was first hired in 2010.

It’s possible Fordham could re-open the search, sources said.

There are also rumblings that Fordham may apply for entry into the Patriot League, which  could make the job more attractive.

Meantime, Fordham guard Eric Paschall, the reigning Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year, will visit Villanova on Tuesday and Providence at a later date, sources confirmed.

“Obviously, we’re waiting to see who they’re going to hire and we’re going to sit down with them and discuss what their future plans are as far as Fordham basketball is concerned and at that time we’re going to make a decision,” Juan Paschall told SNY.tv last week.
