PHILADELPHIA — Dwayne Bacon had a slew of schools watching him last week at the Reebok Classic Breakout, and the 6-foot-6 Oak Hill (Va.) Academy combo guard is looking to cut his list relatively soon.

“Looking to cut my list after July,” he told SNY.tv.

Bacon, who will spend his senior year at Oak Hill after transferring fromĀ  Lakeland (Fla.) McKeel Academy, listed Florida State, USF, Tennessee, Louisville, USC, UCLA and Georgetown among those he’s considering.

“It’s just a lot,” he said. “I forget some but it’s a lot.”

Florida State coach Leonard Hamilton was a steady presence at Bacon’s games and are considered by many to be the favorite.

“I just like that they’e up front with me,” Bacon said. “I can come in and help them right away, so they say, and I’m looking forward to coming in a hleping a school right away. That’s a big part of my decision, just being comfortable with the coach.”

Georgetown is also in play, in part because Bacon’s girlfriend goes to school there.

“They got a great coaching staff, an old coaching staff so I’m pretty sure they know what they’re doing. They put a lot of people in the league and that’s where I’m trying to get.”

Asked if his girlfriend’s presence at Georgetown would influence his decision, he said, “It quite sure could be, but I’m not sure.”

Louisville is also in the mix and head coach Rick Pitino was on hand Wednesday night.

“Just Rick Pitino, who wouldn’t want to play for Rick?” Bacon asked. “And he recruits me.”
