    Hurley

Bobby Hurley is undefeated against Kentucky.

The current Buffalo coach and former Duke star will put his 1-0 career record against the Wildcats on the line when Buffalo visits Rupp Arena Nov. 16. Hurley confirmed the game is set after Jon Rothstein of CBSSports.com reported it.

“It is exciting for our players to have an opportunity to play a program so rich in tradition like Kentucky,” Hurley, who went 19-10, 13-5 last year in the Mid-American Conference, told SNY.tv. “For me personally, I expect to be a crowd favorite.”

Hurley, of course, was the point guard on the 1992 Duke team that stunned Kentucky in the Elite 8 at the Philadelphia Spectrum on Christian Laettner’s last-second turnaround jumper that ranks as one of the most memorable moments in the history of college basketball.

Kentucky fans still wear shirts that read, “I Hate Laettner.”

Kentucky will be the preseason favorite to win its second NCAA championship in three years with the return of Andrew and Aaron Harrison, Willie Cauley-Stein, Dakari Jones and Marcus Lee to go along with a strong recruiting class.

Buffalo also visits Wisconsin Dec. 28, meaning they will play two of last year’s Final Four teams and two preseason Top 5 outfits.

    WILDCATS RELEASE NON-CONFERENCE SCHEDULE

John CalipariKentucky has announced its 2014-15 men’s basketball non-conference schedule, which is highlighted by five of the winningest programs in college basketball history.

The Wildcats will face off against some of the most tradition-laden teams in the history of the sport including, Kansas, Texas, North Carolina, UCLA and Louisville, all of whom are among the top 20 winningest programs in college basketball.

Kentucky will open with a pair of games in Rupp Arena against Grand Canyon University on Nov. 14 and Buffalo on Nov. 16 in the 2014 Cawood Ledford Classic.

For the fourth straight year, UK participates in the State Farm Champions Classic, taking on Kansas on Nov. 18 in Indianapolis.

The Wildcats will return home for three straight games, including a tilt with Boston (Nov. 21) and the final two games of the Cawood Ledford Classic against Montana State (Nov. 23) and UT-Arlington (Nov. 25).

Kentucky closes out November hosting Providence on Nov. 30 in Rupp Arena.

The Wildcats will ring in December with four straight home games beginning with the SEC/Big 12 Challenge on Dec. 5, when the Texas Longhorns come to Lexington. Kentucky will then host Eastern Kentucky (Dec. 7), Columbia (Dec. 10) and North Carolina (Dec. 13) before heading to Chicago to take on UCLA in the inaugural CBS Sports Classic on Dec. 20.

UK closes out the 2014 calendar year against in-state rival Louisville on Dec. 27.

Prior to regular-season action, Kentucky hosts a pair of in-state exhibition games. The first will be Nov. 2 against Pikeville, followed by a matchup against Georgetown College on Nov. 7.
