North Carolina assistant Hubert Davis watched Matt Ryan play on Tuesday and said he would return with head coach Roy Williams.

“Hubert said he was very impressed and he will be back with Coach Williams to take it to the next level,” Rich Ryan, Matt’s father, told SNY.tv.

The 6-foot-5 Ryan actually went scoreless in the game — a 20-point blowout of Mount St. Michael — but he did finish with 15 rebounds and six assists.

“He had a great game, he just didn’t score,” his father said.

Notre Dame, Duke and Stanford remain in touch with Ryan, a 2015 small forward who runs with the New Heights AAU program.
