Temple’s Dingle Sidelined for Season With Knee Surgery
Temple sophomore guard/forward Daniel Dingle will have arthroscopic surgery next week to repair a meniscus tear in his right knee, the school announced. The injury was suffered at practice on Sunday.
It’s unclear what his recovery time will be after the surgery, but it is likely he will be sidelined the remainder of the 2013-14 season.
The Brooklyn, N.Y. native has been the team’s top reserve this season, averaging 6.7 points per game to rank fifth on the squad. He scored a career-high 13 points in the Owls’ loss to Texas Southern on Dec. 18, and followed that with a 12-point outing in his second start of the year against LIU Brooklyn (Dec. 21) in his hometown. He also had a career-high three blocks against the Blackbirds.
On the season, he also averaged 20.3 minutes, 2.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists and was tied for team-high with 11 blocked shots.
