Miles Bridges has exploded onto the high school basketball scene since his transfer to Huntington (W.V.) Prep.

The 6-foot-6 forward from Michigan has used his superior athleticism to draw the attention of top coaches all over the country.

“West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana and Michigan State have come and watched me play so far this year,” Bridges told SNY.tv.

Playing alongside top recruits Josh Perkins, JaQuan Lyle and Montaque Gill-Caesar at Huntington Prep, Bridges has transformed from a player who wasn’t nationally ranked to the No. 18-ranked player in the country by Rivals in the Class of 2016. He also says that he would like to pair up with two of his current teammates at the next level.

“Teki and JaQuan if [Lyle] stays for three years,” Bridges said. Lyle is in the Class of 2014 and will sign in the spring. He is considering eight schools.

Bridges says that while Kentucky is on the radar for Gill-Caesar, he personally has been in contact with Orlando Antigua, the Wildcats’ assistant coach as well. But he says that when he makes a decision, he will take into account what’s going on at the schools on his list.

“Everyone’s dream is to go to Kentucky,” Bridges said when asked about the prospects of choosing a school. “But it depends on how the year is going for the school when I chose, how many players are there when I’m a senior, and who’s going there.”

Bridges has his eye on two top players to team up with at the next level as well from the class of 2016.

Josh Jackson and Seventh Woods,” Bridges said. “I’ve played with Josh before, and Seventh just seems fun to play with.”

Jackson and Bridges are both Michigan natives, and live about an hour away from each other.

Averaging 11.8 points, and 7.9 rebounds per game over the past nine games, Bridges has helped Huntington Prep to a 8-1 record, with their lone loss coming to Carlisle (Va.). He was also featured at No. 1 on SportsCenter’s Top 10 plays for an off the head alley-oop dunk from teammate Pau Serena.

“The transition is going really well so far,” Bridges said. “Coach Fulford has me playing the 3 right now, and I’ve been playing really well lately.”
