Quentin Goodin has confirmed what many Kentucky fans have hoped. If he got an opportunity to play for Kentucky, he would take it.

“I really like Coach (John) Calipari a lot,” Goodin told SNY.tv on Wednesday. “I like how he develops his players, not only the league, but just through the mindset that life isn’t just basketball. He would set me up for life after basketball. I would definitely take the opportunity to play at Kentucky if I got it.”

Goodin attended Big Blue Madness recently, and says that Coach Cal’s ability to ready his players for the next level is very intriguing.

“I know that he can get me to the next level just based off of his history,” Goodin said. “I’m in the gym whenever I’m not doing homework or school. I’m really a gym rat, so I think that I can get there.”

As for the other school in-state, Goodin says that Coach Rick Pitino from Louisville hasn’t been in touch recently.

“I don’t really talk to Coach Pitino anymore,” Goodin said. “Its mostly been Coach Calipari.”

Goodin, a 6-foot-2 point guard from Taylor County (Ky.), has received offers from Oklahoma State, Indiana, Tennessee, UAB and West Virginia recently, and is continuing to draw attention nationally.

“Coach (Thad) Matta from Ohio State and Coach (Tom) Crean from Indiana have been in to see me play recently,” Goodin said. “They have been in touch the most.”

A top player in the class of 2016, Goodin got a chance to play at the Team USA Developmental Camp during the summer, and his stock will only continue to rise if he continues to impress at this high level.
