Junior college guard Carlos Morris has committed to Minnesota.

“Just felt it was the best spot for me,” the 6-foot-5, 170-pound Morris said by text.

Morris will have two years of D-1 eligibility at Minnesota.

He also considered UAB and Seton Hall, among others.

Morris is a onetime South Carolina commit who averaged 13.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.3 steals last season.

“I’m a scoring guard who can rebound,” he said. “I see the floor and bring a winner’s mentality.”

The guard out of Chipola (FL) College joins power forward Josh Martin and guard Nate Mason in Richard Pitino’s 2014 class.
