Nate Mason, a 6-foot point from Montrose Christian, took his final official visit this weekend to Minnesota and enjoyed it.

“It was good, really good,” Mason told SNY.tv by phone. “The place was nice. I like the offense, the tempo they played at. They [would] use me to run the team, score, get some wins under their belt.”

He is being recruited by head coach Richard Pitino and assistant Kimani Young.

“They’re real straight dudes, I like that,” he said.

Mason has also visited Virginia and Kansas State, but has no timetable on a decision.

“I am ready to get it over with,” he said. “I’m not sure yet [when he will decide].”

Minnesota has one commit in 2014 in power forward Josh Martin, but has missed out on several point guards.
