Jon Severe confirmed that he will meet with new Rutgers coach Eddie Jordan at 9 p.m. tonight, but told SNY.tv he has not officially added Rutgers to his list of four schools.

Right now, his original list of four stands and he is due to announce at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Christ the King.

“I have my four schools — West Virginia, Fordham, Pitt and Wake Forest,” Severe told SNY.tv by phone. “I never met the guy Eddie Jordan. I’m cool with [Rutgers assistant] Van [Macon], so I’m meeting him tonight with my [AAU] coach Shandue McNeil. Tonight will be the first time me meeting him.”

The New York Post reported that the 6-foot-2 Severe, Mr. Basketball in New York State, was leaning toward Fordham or Rutgers, but Severe disputed that.

“He made it seem like it was either Rutgers or Fordham, it’s not that at all,” Severe said.

McNeil confirmed to SNY.tv that Pitt coach Jamie Dixon was at Christ the King on Monday to see Severe.

Meantime, Jordan is due to be introduced at a 4:30 press conference, and will then get to work on Severe.

With only five scholarship players on the roster for next season, Jordan can offer immediate playing time to Severe and other unsigned 2013 players.

The Scarlet Knights are due to lose guards Jerome Seagears and Eli Carter and wings Malick Kone, Mike Poole and Vincent Garrett to transfer.

Severe averaged 21.6 points per game and went for 16 points and five rebounds in the Jordan Brand Regional game, where his team won.

“I don’t know [Eddie Jordan] at all, so I just gotta see,” Severe said.

Asked if there was a chance he could add Rutgers to his list following the meeting, Severe said, “Yeah, I guess. But you never know, you know.”

Regardless, he plans to announce on Wednesday and said he hasn’t yet decided on a school.

Seton Hall assistant Dan McHale will join Richard Pitino’s staff at Minnesota, multiple sources told SNY.tv. Among the possible replacements for McHale are former Siena and Rutgers assistant Craig Carter and former FDU assistant Marcus Toney-El, a former Seton Hall standout.
