Trey Lyles, the Rivals No. 5 player in the Class of 2014 out of Indianapolis (Ind.) Arsenal Tech, has a busy week of visits going on.

As previously reported by CardinalAuthority.com, the 6-foot-11, 248-pound Lyles, a onetime Indiana commit, visited Louisville on Sunday for the Marquette game, and will head to Butler today (Tuesday) and Kentucky Saturday.

“It was good,” Tom Lyles, Trey’s father and an assistant at Arsenal Tech, told SNY.tv of the Louisville visit. “It was really good.

“It was quite an experience considering that it’s the only place we have gone that he’s ever experienced outside of Bloomington, outside of Assembly Hall. It’s the first and only school that he’s gone to as far as getting a game in, getting the atmosphere and getting a chance to see what it’s like to play in the KFC Center.

Trey met with Louisville coach Rick Pitino after Louisville’s win over Marquette.

“We had a chance to talk to coach and the other members of the coaching staff,” Tom said. “We had a chance to sit and hear him give his pre-game speech. It was a very, very good visit.”

Next up is a trip to Butler today, a day before the Bulldogs face St. Bonaventure.

“We’re going to Butler today,” Tom said.

After that they will visit Kentucky on Saturday for the Auburn game.

“And for the most part that’s about it for this season until our season is over,” Tom said.

Tom said they are also planning several visits over spring break in March.

“We’re going to try and get to UCLA, Florida, Duke and North Carolina, try to get those places during the spring in March,” he said. “We want him to get the atmosphere and get to some games.”

Aside from those schools, Tennessee, Notre Dame and Stanford are also involved, Tom said.

Trey is averaging 22 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists for a 16-3 Arsenal Tech team.

“For us he plays everything,” Tom said. “He leads the team in assists. He’s the first or second ball-handler. With the size he has, it doesn’t hurt because he can seal most frontlines on defense. He’s playing a little bit of everything for us. He plays the 2, 3, 4 and 5. It depends on what we need from him at that time.”
