Karl Towns is doing a double-dip this weekend.

The 6-foot-10 sophomore big man from St. Joe’s-Metuchen will take an unofficial visit to West Virginia Friday from about 10 a.m. to noon before hitting Kentucky’s Big Blue Madness Friday night.

Towns is related to former West Virginia star Da’Sean Butler, now a member of the Mounties staff.

“They took care of Da’Sean Butler so I can’t thank them enough,” Towns told Alex Schiffer.

After that he heads to Big Blue Madness at Kentucky.

“Time to come back and see some old friends. Be there for big blue madness. See u there #kentuckywildcats,” he Tweeted.

Towns spent the summer playing for Kentucky coaches John Calipari and Orlando Antigua on the Dominican Republic National Team.

Kentucky is expecting several visitors, including uncommitted 2013 forward Marcus Lee, committed players Aaron and Andrew Harrison and Derek Willis, and 2014s Cliff Alexander and JaQuan Lyle. If James Young commits tonight as expected, he could also be in the house.

“As for the recruiting class [Kentucky has], I think they’re going to be very strong next year and for years to come,” Towns said.
