Despite spending the better part of the last seven weeks revamping his roster, Brooklyn Nets General Manager Billy King is apparently not done yet.

The Nets have agreed in principle to a non-guaranteed contract with free agent small forward and former Syracuse star Donte Greene, who spent his first four seasons as a fan favorite with the Sacramento Kings.

On Thursday afternoon, Greene tweeted, ‘HELLO BROOKLYN’ along with putting a photo of the Nets logo on Instagram. Greene putting his own news on Twitter and Instagram came just minutes after Marc Spears of Yahoo! broke the news on Twitter.

Greene’s contract is non-guaranteed, but the deal is reportedly set up so that it becomes a one-year deal for the veteran’s minimum if he’s still around in January. Based on Greene’s four years of service in the league, he would be due approximately $916,000.

Greene holds career averages of 6.1 points and 2.4 rebounds in 253 games in Sacramento. He is looked at as a solid backup to starting small forward Gerald Wallace, who re-signed with the Nets this offseason for four years and approximately $40 million.

Greene, a McDonald’s All-American and the Gatorade Maryland Player of the Year at Towson Catholic High School in 2007, spent one year at Syracuse. He averaged 17.7 points and 7.2 rebounds while starting all 35 games. He was drafted 28th overall by the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2008 NBA Draft.
