Rutgers announced Monday that redshirt freshman forward Kadeem Jack will have surgery on his right foot this week to address an injury that occurred during a preseason workout Oct. 7.

Sources said Jack has a broken foot and underwent surgery Monday.

Jack is expected to be sidelined approximately three to four months.

“Kadeem has worked extremely hard in preparation for the season,” said head coach Mike Rice. “He will remain very much involved in all team activities and we look forward to his complete recovery.”

The 6-foot-10 Jack figured to play an important role in the frontcourt providing key minutes along with sophomores Austin Johnson and Gilvydas Biruta and fellow frosh Derrick Randall.
