NEW YORK — After spending the afternoon at the Big Apple Basketball Invitational at Baruch College, here’s a look at six of the top uncommitted players who excelled today:

**Devin Coleman, 6-3 2011 G, Friends’ Central (Pa.)

Coleman was named MVP after notching game-highs of 30 points  and 12 rebounds in Friends’ 63-50 victory over Quality Education (N.C).  He was 8 of 14 from the field, 2 of 2 from 3 and a perfect 12 of 12 from the line. The play of the game was Coleman’s flying one-handed dunk at the end of the third period.

Coleman says he’s qualified and listed St. Joe’s, Siena, Penn State, Clemson, La Salle and Rhode Island.

“[I will bring] scoring, definitely a lot of energy, defense and whatever the coach needs me to bring,” Coleman said.

    **Amile Jefferson, 6-8 2012 G/F, Friends’ Central

Jefferson was dominant in the paint, putting up 23 points and 11 rebounds in the win over a Quality Education team that features three Big East signees. He said he models his game after Wesley Johnson and Kevin Durant.

Jefferson listed Villanova, Miami, Pitt, Temple, Georgetown, Syracuse, Maryland, Duke and North Carolina.

“[Villanova]  is the school I’ve seen the most, so naturally that’s the one I’ve been drawn to because I’ve seen it the most,” he said. “I’m looking forward to going to see some of these other schools.”

As far as his upside, Friends Central coach Jason Polykoff said:

“He’s still on his way up. His potential is unbelievable. He’s still got a couple more inches in him. He still hasn’t really established a jump shot. He’s gotta get bigger. So once he establishes all that stuff, he’s going to be tough to stop.”

    **Aquille Carr, 5-7 2013 G, Patterson (Md.)

Carr put up a game-high 34 points  on 9 of 30 shooting to go with 8 steals in a 62-61 loss to Cardozo (N.Y.). He did a great job of getting to the stripe, but didn’t capitalize, going 13 of 22.

The sophomore listed Kentucky, Syracuse, UConn and Louisville as schools that are interested, and Virginia Tech, Texas, LSU, Memphis, Arkansas and Tulane as schools that offered.

“Syracuse showing me the most love,” he said, before saying he models his game after Jonny Flynn.

As for what he’ll bring to the next level, Carr said, “More like a power guard, try to build my body up.”

**Todd Mayo, 6-3 2011 G, Notre Dame Prep (Mass.)

The younger brother of Memphis Grizzlies guard O.J. Mayo, Todd was tremendous in scoring 20 points on 5 of 10 shooting in a Notre Dame Prep’s 86-70 win over South Kent.

An athletic wing and strong finisher who seems to have a high basketball IQ, he listed Kansas, Baylor, Marquette and Oklahoma State and said he’ll visit Baylor Feb. 26.

“Now I’m qualified,” he said. “I’m taking my visits.”

**Myles Davis, 6-3 2012 G, Notre Dame Prep

Known as a shooter, Davis did just that against South Kent, going 5 of 8 and 3 of 6 from deep for 16 points to go with 3 assists.

He lists Georgetown, Villanova, Pittsburgh and Xavier as his top four. Pitt assistant Brandin Knight is his cousin.

    **Nemanja Djurisic, 6-8 2011 F/C, South Kent

A big man who likes to shoot from deep, Djurisic whot 3 of 10 overall and 1 of 3 from deep en route to 8 points and a team-high 11 rebounds in the loss to Notre Dame Prep.

South Kent coach Kelvin Jefferson listed N.C. State, Arizona State, Utah, Fairfield, Stony Brook, ECU, Clemson, Richmond and Charlotte as schools of interest.

St. John’s head coach Steve Lavin and assistants Tony Chiles and Rico Hines, Clemson assistant Mike Winiecki and Manhattan assistant Scott Adubato were on hand for the games.
