While there has been much speculation surrounding DeAndre Daniels and his future, his immediate plans remain uncertain.

“He is still training with us and he has an open invitation to stay at IMG should he decide to wait for the spring,” IMG basketball director Andy Borman said Tuesday night.

The 6-foot-8 Daniels is still weighing whether to remain at IMG for the spring semester or to enroll in college but wait until the fall to play.

He had narrowed his list to Kansas, Kentucky and Texas, but recruiting analyst Marc Maggard recently reported that Kentucky rescinded its offer.

Reports have surfaced that Daniels likes Kansas and that he is simply waiting to see how much financial aid he will receive before committing to the Jayhawks.

Kansas has reportedly filled its scholarship allotments for this school year, so Daniels would have to secure a Pell Grant or an academic scholarship to attend Kansas this semester.

Borman said he was unaware of any such plans by Daniels and his family.

“It is my opinion that the delay in his decision is due to the fact that DeAndre and his dad are being extremely thorough with their decision-making process,” Borman said.

He added: “They have an open invitation to stay, so no timetable on our end.”
