Lamb Has Decided…And St. John’s is ‘Too Late’

By Adam Zagoria on April 15, 2010, 1:30PM

NEW YORK — Doron Lamb says he’s already decided on a college and the rest of us will have to wait until Saturday night to find out.

“I know where I’m going right now,” Lamb told SNY.tv Thursday at the Jordan Brand Classic practice at Sports Club/LA in Manhattan.

“My family knows where I’m going, but nobody else knows where I’m going.”

Lamb, a senior at Oak Hill (Va.) Academy, and Baltimore (Md.) Lake Clifton guard Josh Selby will both announce during the Jordan Game on ESPN2.

“I have a top five of Arizona, UConn, Kansas, Kentucky and West Virginia,” Lamb said.

(Check the video interview where he breaks down each school.)

As exclusively reported here earlier this week, St. John’s coach Steve Lavin reached out to Doron’s father, Calvin Lamb, about Doron potentially taking the Johnnies’ last scholarship for 2010.

But Doron said St. John’s came in “too late” to be considered.

“I don’t even know, man. I think it’s too late,” he said. “They tried to reach out to me at Oak Hill. They talked to my parents, but I don’t know what happened with them. I think it’s too late.”

A Queens, N.Y. native, Lamb won MVP honors last August at the Boost Mobile Elite 24 game at the Gauchos Gym and hopes to have a similar performance on Saturday.

“Every time I play in New York City in an All-Star Game I always have a good game so I hope I have a good game this Saturday coming up,” he said. “I just want to play in front of my family and friends for the last time in a high school game.”

I’d bet on KU for Selby and UK for Lamb.

I agree with the Selby bet especially after what Winn from SI said about Selby When asked if the fact he hadn’t talked to Cal in over a month was a hint and Selby said yes. Lamb I have no read on a ESPNU article had him to KU yesterday I wouldnt be surprised if its UK or KU, really dont have a feeling either way.

That’s a great scenario for both kids. Selby steps in immediately & runs the point at KU and Lamb obviously gets more PT at UK. Good luck to both.

Earlier, I said I thought both Selby and Lamb would go to UK. Now I think just Lamb goes there while KU gets Selby. In other words, I agree with the previous three posts.

I would have said Selby to KU, and Lamb to UK before I saw this video, but what Doron said about Self and Dooley makes me think they’re both going to end up at KU.

That would be great for the Jayhawks.
I think UK will get CJ Leslie, but not Lamb.

Doesn’t sound like he’s too high on UConn.

I agree.. should be a good day for UK and KU both.

So if Lamb goes to UK, is KU done recruiting? It would seem that they would be favorites to win the Big 12 again..

Mizzou is coming strong too though..
