PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Scottie Reynolds didn’t start Villanova’s first NCAA tournament game of his senior season.

    But he sure did finish.

After getting benched to start the game because of what Villanova coach Jay Wright called a “teaching moment,” Reynolds hit a clutch 3-pointer and then two foul shots with 9.1 seconds left in overtime to help No. 2 Villanova escape with a 73-70 victory over No. 15 Robert Morris in a first-round South Regional game at the Dunkin Donuts Center.

**Meanwhile, No.  Georgetown was humbled by No. 13 Ohio U. Greg Monroe says he’ll return for his junior year, but head coach John Thompson III says not so fast.

    • So much for the almighty Big East 1-3 and 0-4.

    • The Big East has always confused being a very competitive conference with being a nationally dominant conference . And of course the eastern bed wetting press jumps on board and amplifies this silliness.

      • I hope you realize that SNY, this blog, and Adam Zagoria are eastern press

        • As for your use of the word “always” I can only infer that you mean that the Big East is never a nationally dominant conference. Last year they sent a record number of teams to the Elite 8 and 50% of the Final Four was from the Big East.

          • I also realize that in 20 years ( 80 teams ) the Big Least has sent 8 teams to the final 4 ….do the math tardos

    • Rockchalk dont even waste your time trying to enlighten these morons..

    • and the beat goes on …Villanova embarrassed …..its merely a continuation of eastern Mcdonalds’s cast offs …..nice league for those eastern ballers who haven’t grown up yet ….but baby it ain’t national …… have fun though …while the Cal freight train rolls on ……
