McEnroes Divided Over Open Favorite

John and Patrick McEnroe are looking forward to working together for ESPN’s upcoming coverage of the U.S. Open, but the brothers don’t agree on who will hold up the trophy on Sept. 13 inside Arthur Ashe Stadium.
“I still think [Roger Federer] is the favorite at the Open,” Patrick, the U.S. Davis Cup captain, said Wednesday on a conference call.
Federer has won the Open five straight times and, with his dramatic five-set victory over Andy Roddick at Wimbledon, owns more Grand Slam titles (15) than any man in history.

Adam Zagoria covers the New York Knicks and Big East football and basketball for SNY.tv and NBA.com.

So, Johnny-Mac is picking:
A) Roddick: The guy whom Roger beat at Wimbledon and has a 19-2 record against–yes, 19-2 (including 4 straight).
B) Murray: The guy whom Roger beat at last year’s USO and just summarily dismissed in Cincy.
Patrick may not have been half the player that his brother was, but I think his knowledge of the current game is superior.
