Rutgers doesn’t make its assistant coaches available for comment, so Craig hasn’t given an interview that I’m aware of. My understanding is that Coach Hill initially wanted Jimmy Carr to make this move. When Carr refused or put up a fight,he then went to Craig.

Adam,
As excited as I was about the upcoming RU men’s BB season after the early part of the summer, these last couple of days have really settled me down.

In regards to Coach Carter I was curious if anyone has interviewd him yet directly. Is this just a temporary move for Craig? Did he willingly accept this position or was this assigned to him? Is he still being paid the same? Is this demotion going to look better for him in future positions?

Based on the responses from bloggers in the NY/NJ metro area someone needs to find out the specifics before we burn Hill and the program.

Yes, I have gotten most of my jobs based on relationships, and I agree with you on that. I just don’t agree with the part where he says “Craig and I go back 20 years.” This should be about the student athlete’s relationship with Carter, not Kimani Young’s relationship with Carter.

Read what Torrel Harris said to get a better understanding of my point….

“It is important for Tobias to respect and have a great relationship with any assistant coach, be it black, white or any race,” he said.

—-It’s about the player and college coach, not the aau coach and college coach.

Recruiting and college basketball should be about the student athlete, not the relationship some AAU coach has with a college coach. This is not “any field.” This is a teenage boy going to college. Yet another reason why many believe AAU is bad business.

I know u have a had a job before and there is no way u got that job without having a relationship with someone. Careers are built on relationships. U didn’t know that? So I agree with adam when he says y not recruiting? Fred Hill blew this one and has lost whatever ground he gained with NY products so he must be dealing with strickly NJ players because the say no the Fred Hill campaign has now commenced in NY.

People make connections, make friends, go to school and make life decisions based on relationships.
